Q: My ligustrum has gotten very scarce at the bottom while being full at the top. I'd like to cut it back to about two feet tall in hopes that this will thicken it up. Prune the suckers from the trunk and remove them. Trim the bottom of the ligustrum to about 1/2 inch from the soil line to make room for mulch, if desired.
